A New Beginning

It wasn’t long ago when I was preparing for what was basically a new start. A new home. A new school. A completely different life than the one I was used to for 19 years. I packed up most of my belongings and entered my freshman year of college. It was exciting and scary, but I was ready.

Now, two semesters later, I am having to do the whole thing over except instead of moving an hour and a half away from home, I’m traveling 6,545 miles to live and study in Tokyo, Japan.

Some of you reading this may know me, and some of you may have stumbled across this blog. Whatever way you found me, I hope that I can share my upcoming experiences with you through one of my favorite forms of expression, writing.

My name is Maddie and I am currently a sophomore at Ohio University. I study journalism and global studies and if you are wondering what I want to do with those two degrees, I honestly couldn’t tell you.

However, I am excited for this new adventure in my life and hope that through it, I will start to better understand myself and what I want my future to hold.

My upcoming posts will not be as cheesy and mushy as this so do not fret young (or old) ones. So what can you look forward to?
